A longtime favorite food haven in the Long Island City area is Manetta's Ristorante.
The pastas are homemade on a daily basis and the lasagna, ravioli and gnocchi are made the old fashion way – by
hand. The pizzas are one of the best around. They have a very light, crispy crust, with a wonderful smoky taste from the wood-burning brick oven.
Many of the desserts such as Italian cheesecake served with homemade cherry preserves are made on premise. One of the house special desserts is frappe; a crispy fried dough creation infused with vanilla, drizzled with honey and dusted with confection sugar.
