Michelin Guide Recommended

“Inventive” French cooking
with a slight “Spanish flair”
and “chic” loungelike quarters
manned by a “sexy staff” ensure
this Astorian shines as one of the
neighborhood’s “bright spots”; even
those put off by the “limited menu”
gravitate to the “sidewalk seating”
for a “cocktail or two.”

Eat Out Awards

“A warm, duck terrine shows up
looking very much like a meaty braciola.
The richness of this cylindrical number
is cut by a clever, agro-dolce balsamic
vinegar reduction with pineapple.
Go more Gallic with the lush terrine
of foie gras, a disc of elegant excess
accompanied by a pear-pineapple relish.
The combo of grilled zucchini and eggplant,
with a round of goat cheese, loosely described”.

“Astoria, Queens, has never lacked for
Greek restaurants. It has plenty of
Italian ones, too. French food has been
the problem. Seven One Eight is the solution”.

With rave reviews from every major publication and recommended by the Michelin Guide, 718 Restaurant features an eclectic menu, which is a fusion of Spanish cuisine, modern French technique with an American flair. The menu is filled with original creations as well as mouth-watering desserts served in a warm and stylish atmosphere. The decor is casual yet elegant, with warm hues of reds, oranges and purples and soft lighting that compliments the dark mahogany wood floors. The inviting bar area contains three comfortable booths while farther back there is a second dining room that is more intimate; the two are separated by dark, wooden frames and sheer draperies. The flickering glow of candles throughout the restaurant adds to the cozy ambiance.

The bar stays open after dinner hours and offers a Tapas menu and Tartes Flambées. There is a prix fixe brunch that is served on Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and includes a cocktail, entrée and dessert. 718 has special events going on every week. It is best to check their website for current information.
